It's designed to get managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety
in their teams. This course is run over 4 days and covers the following areas:

IOSH Working safely is intended for people at any level, in any sector, needing a foundation in the essentials of health and safety. It also meets the government's guidelines for introductory health and safety training and is a 100 per cent match to the Health and Safety Executive's 'passport' syllabus. This course is of one day duration and covers the following areas:

• Defining hazard and risk
• Identifying common hazards
• Improving safety performance
• Protecting our environment

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
IOSH – Strategic Health & Safety in the Fire & Rescue Service
This course is intended for operational fire service personnel. This course was originally developed to meet the health and safety training needs of the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service.

Assessment method = multi format questions and a dynamic risk assessment/incident command project

Duration = 5 days

This course can be adapted to meet the specific needs of other Fire and Rescue Services.
