Appointed Safety Advisor & Retained Support Service

Do you know what the law requires?
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Regulation 7, requires that:
Every employer shall… appoint one or more competent persons to assist him in undertaking the measures he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions placed on him by or under the relevant statutory provisions.
A person shall be regarded as competent where he has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other qualities to enable him to assist in undertaking the measures referred to in the above paragraph.

Why do we need the Safety Advisor and Support Service?
Many organisations cannot justify employing their own Safety Professional or staff to assist and to guide them through the quagmire of legislation. Others do have an appointed person, but may find that some projects are too time consuming or require additional assistance.
